On Saturday Eddie brought home a hard fought fifth place in the Expert GT Lights class out of a field of about twenty. As Saturday morning rolled around Eddie finished less than a tenth of a second off the podium and also improving on his fastest lap time ever by about one second. The last race of the weekend was also the most spectacular. Eddie started on the second to last row and did not get the start he would have liked. Still Rusch made his way up to fourth. The third place man was a good six seconds ahead, but Eddie put his head down and put in some flying laps. Eddie remarked on the race by saying ěI could see him, but I didnít think I would be able to catch him, but every lap I got closer and closer.î Eddie made the pass with just one lap to go and held on to his best ever race. This was the finest weekend that Eddie has ever had. He saw his lap times drop into the 1:16 range which is two seconds faster than his previous weekend at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. We are expecting Eddie to expose fellow riders to the Lord by having success on the track.

On Sunday Don led chapel service about Jesusí story of the prodigal son, which is in the book of Luke chapter 15. ěI can relate so much with that passage and the unconditional love God has for us as Jesus points out in that storyî Don says. We had a crowd of about 15 of which mostly were riders in their leathers prepared to race in the upcoming 2- hour endurance race. We felt Godís presence during the many fellowship opportunities throughout the day, including a spectator named Gary, who had suffered a heart attack just two weeks earlier! Praise God for Garyís quick recovery and renewed outlook for his life on Godís earth.
Round 1 in late April was also a success at Heartland Park Raceway in Topeka, Kansas. Eddie brought home two 3rd place finishes to make his first podium finishes of his expert career. The weekend saw very severe weather and the boys are just thankful that they were able to keep the bike on two wheels.
