Team Preps for 09 Season.
What a roller coaster of a weekend! 7 members of CSBRacing arrived in Daytona Beach for our annual team meeting and we teamed up with the Christian Sportbike Association,(CSBA), for some awesome outreach opportunities on the street! Our weekend started with Mike Pruitt and Mark Steedly learning how to dodge gators as we grabbed some scuba gear and went diving in the springs near my home. While we were underwater hitting the springs, our wallets, cameras, cell phones and money were also hit, being stolen when some dudes snatched the keys from Markís shorts, and using the alarm figured out which truck was ours and royally ripped us off.
There was no time for discouragement to set in, because a few hours later we were asked to join a local church for some street outreach to teens who skate and surf. So we loaded the race bikes, teamed up with a Christian stunter from the CSBA, Joel Hickman, and brought all the wheels and surfboards to a standstill as our bikes rolled in and Joel took over. After the stunt show ended, Joel and I were invited to speak with the youth, and the Gospel was shared with some 80 teens who listened to the hope of Christ.
The following day we were invited to share at a Christian college age singles group and again the bikes rolled. And at 9pm that night, it was time to open the garage so the local boyz could meet the team and get some wrenching. We were up till almost 2am sharing, laughing and wrenching.
The hope of Christ is real and powerful, turning discouragement into humility and action. As Christís ambassadors to the hurting and lost, we are not above the sting of this world, in fact the Bible warns and encourages us that not only will we experience great suffering in this life as followers of Christ, but as we are led by the Holy Spirit, our suffering and sacrifices will yield eternal fruit. No greater example of rising above the hopeless grip of our selfish culture could there be, than kneeling in the Atlantic ocean and baptizing teammates Eddie and John!
Itís about attitude bros, this world will make us suffer, but keep that attitude in check, cause Christ has overcome the world, and when we seem to be at our weakest, we draw our strength from Him, and He is able to use us to bring some serious hope and light into the darkest corners of menís hearts!
